    Introduction

The Fleet App now includes verification checks via Bluetooth, allowing mechanics and installers to run installation verification tests for signals such as GPS, LTE, Bluetooth, power, Wi-Fi, cable, and telematics. This functionality helps prevent installation-related issues when setting up the Vehicle Gateway.
The Fleet App is enhanced to capture essential details during onboarding, including odometer readings (selecting from available odometer sources), power source information, installation notes, and photos.

Steps: Installation verification testing for Vehicle Gateway on the Fleet App

    1. Log in to the Fleet App and follow these steps to assign the Vehicle Gateway to the desired vehicle.
    2. Once the Vehicle Gateway is assigned, confirm you have the correct cable for installation by checking the label on the cable. Tap Next.

    1. Choose a recommended temporary location for mounting the Vehicle Gateway. Once done, tap Next

    1. Place the Vehicle Gateway at the selected location and connect the 15-pin connector. Ensure the other end connects to your vehicle’s diagnostic port without removing the adhesive backing. Tap Next.

    1. Both LED lights on the Vehicle Gateway are illuminated. The left-side LED turns green, indicating a strong cellular/GPS connection. Tap LEDs are solid.

    1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and you are near the vehicle gateway. Once ready, tap Begin Test.
Note: This verification is done only via Bluetooth connection. It requires the user to be inside the vehicle to perform the test.

    1. The test may take up to two minutes to complete. You will be notified whether it has passed or failed.

Scenario 1: The pre-install test has passed

    1. If the test passes, permanently mount the Vehicle Gateway on the desired location and tap Next.

    1. After mounting, enter the installation details, such as the Odometer reading, Engine hours, Power Source, and Installation photos, and tap Next.

    1. The Vehicle Gateway installation is complete. Tap View this vehicle to see the vehicle profile with updated location information.

Scenario 2: The pre-install test has failed

    1. If the test fails, review the errors and refer to the troubleshooting instructions in the Learn More link before testing again.

    1. Run the test again to check for success. If you choose to skip the test, complete the installation details, but note that the installation is marked as incomplete.

    1. If you are in an area with poor LTE or GPS coverage, conduct the verification test later from the Vehicle Gateway details page by clicking Verify installation.
