Viewing Motive Analytics
1. Confirm that you have the required Roles & Permissions to view and access data within the Motive Analytics hub.
2. In the Fleet Dashboard, locate and click Analytics from the left-hand side menu.
3. You’ll now land directly on the Browse view.
- This view combines dashboards and answers into a single, easy-to-navigate list. To customize, use the filters at the top of the page.
4. To set a dashboard as your default homepage, select Add Dashboard.
5. Pin your preferred dashboard. Pinned Dashboards open automatically when you visit the Analytics page.
| Note: Reports are renamed to answers; however, the functionality remains the same. This also helps distinguish older reports from newer analytics content. |
6. To star any dashboard or answer, select star icon. Starred items are easily filtered and accessed in the list view.
Roles and Permissions
Manage your team’s access directly in the Fleet Dashboard Admin Panel by following the steps below:
1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon in the bottom left corner.
2. Click Fleet Users from the left-hand side menu to view the fleet users screen.
3. Select Roles & Permissions.
4. Click + Create Role.
5. Scroll down to the Motive Analytics section in the Create Role screen. Choose View Access for users who need to explore pre-built reports or Manage Access for those who create and customize new content.
6. Click Create to create this new role.
Managing Permission When Editing an Existing Role
1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon in the bottom left corner.
2. Click Fleet Users from the left-hand side menu to view the fleet users screen.
3. Select Roles & Permissions.
4. Click Options for the role you want to edit.
5. Click Edit from the dropdown menu.

Exporting data

Answers can be exported directly from the Analytics page as PNG, PDF, XLSX, or CSV files. This allows teams to save visualizations for presentations or perform further analysis in other tools.

Can I customize my answers and dashboards?
Yes, you can customize answers by selecting the change visualization icon to choose different chart types, and use the Customize menu to adjust the display, drag and drop measure and attribute chips, and access additional settings. You can customize dashboards by repositioning and resizing visualizations, adding or removing answers, and adjusting the layout.
How do I save and share answers?
To save an answer, add a title and description, and click Save in the top blue bar. To share an answer, you can export it in PNG, XLSX, or CSV format from the three-dot menu in the Answer Library list view or directly from the answer view.
Can I set anomaly or threshold alerts for my answers?
This is not currently available but is coming in the future.
Data Export and Integration
How do I export my answers?
You can export an answer by selecting Export from the Analytics hub.
What file formats are available for exporting?
Answers can be exported in three different file formats: PNG, XLSX, and CSV.
Can I schedule answers to be sent automatically?

Currently, you can control access to answers and dashboards by contacting the Motive Analytics team to configure the appropriate roles and permissions. In the future, you'll be able to manage access directly in the Fleet Dashboard Admin Pane.

Troubleshooting and Support
I can’t edit this answer or the dashboard. What should I do?
You may only have View Access to the content. To make changes, go to the top-right dropdown menu and select Make a Copy. This will create an editable version of the content for you. If you're trying to edit a Motive-created dashboard, direct edits aren’t allowed. You’ll need to make a copy first before making any changes.
