Availability

Monitoring the real-time availability status of your vehicles and assets is essential for efficient fleet operations. This feature helps reduce downtime, improve dispatch accuracy, and ensure that only ready and compliant vehicles are assigned to trips.

Overview

Effectively managing vehicle and asset availability is crucial for smooth fleet operations. With real-time status tracking, fleet managers gain instant visibility into the condition and availability of each vehicle and asset, ensuring timely dispatches and optimized fleet management.

  • Enhanced visibility: Instantly access the status of all vehicles and assets, providing a comprehensive view of fleet operations to make informed decisions.
  • Improved dispatch planning: Assign the appropriate vehicle to each task using real-time status data, ensuring the right equipment is dispatched at the right time.
  • Increased safety & compliance: Ensure only safe and ready vehicles are dispatched by monitoring availability and avoiding the dispatch of unready or unsafe units.
  • Reduced downtime & costs: Proactively track maintenance and utilization data, helping minimize vehicle downtime and repair costs while maximizing fleet productivity.

Updating real-time status

Fleet managers can track and manage asset readiness by updating status labels, such as in service, out of service for maintenance, or ready for dispatch, in the Motive Dashboard. This helps streamline workflows and prevent mistakes during trip planning.

To update a vehicle or assets availability:

  1. In the Fleet Dashboard, go to Assets Availability Status.
  2. Select the vehicle or asset you want to update.

If a vehicle is marked unavailable, drivers will be blocked from starting a trip with it. This helps ensure that only safe, ready assets are dispatched.
