The Driver Summary page on the Fleet Dashboard provides a comprehensive view of a driver's performance, activity, and key details. It integrates seamlessly into Motive’s suite of products to help fleet managers effectively monitor and manage their drivers.
Overview
Consolidated visibility: Offers driver information and performance across Hours of Service, Compliance, Safety Score, and other key metrics in a single view.
Proactive management: Surfaces recent activity, violations, and pending actions so managers can quickly follow up and resolve issues.
Actionable insights: Highlights trends and outliers in driver behavior to support targeted coaching and performance improvement.

Basics
Key components of a driver Summary page are the following:
- Profile Picture: Taken from face match. If face match is not enabled, initials are shown.
Driver Details: Editable by Fleet Managers via the Edit button on the driver Summary page.
| Note: Tenure is a new field for driver accounts that is calculated using the start date of a driver. If the start date is empty, the Tenure box in the driver profile remains empty. |
- Hours of Service: Provides a 30-day snapshot of the driver's Hours of Service, with a link to the hub-specific page to dive deeper. When a driver has both a primary and secondary cycle configured, this section shows two cards, HOS: Primary cycle and HOS: Secondary cycle, each with its own clocks, hours available today and tomorrow, and an Active label on whichever cycle currently applies. Drivers with only one configured cycle continue to see a single HOS Cycle widget.
- Compliance: Shows a 30-day snapshot of the driver's logs, with links to the hub-specific pages to dive deeper.
Safety Score: Provides a 30-day snapshot of the driver’s safety score, with a link to the hub-specific page to dive deeper.

- Action Center: Displays pending action items for the Driver across the platform.
Quick Links: Provides links to reports ranging from driver activity, compliance, and HOS recap to log audits.
- Motive Card: Provides a 30-day snapshot of the driver's spending summary, with a link to the hub-specific page to dive deeper.
- Fuel Performance: Provides insights into drive time, idling with PTO, and idling without PTO over the last 30 days.
Recent Activity: Provides multiple tabs to view recent logs, safety and speeding events, trips, inspections, transactions, and documents.
Understanding the HOS card
The HOS card on Driver Summary adapts based on how many cycles a driver has configured.
- Dual cycles configured: Two cards display side by side, titled HOS: Primary cycle and HOS: Secondary cycle. Cycle rule names are abbreviated in the card header to stay readable (for example, AK Oil and Gas 70/7 instead of the full rule name).
- Single cycle configured: One widget displays, labeled HOS Cycle, with no primary or secondary qualifier.
- Active cycle: The cycle currently applied to the driver shows an Active label.
- Show Split SB Provision: This toggle appears on the card wherever split sleeper berth is supported for that cycle (currently only available for US cycles).
Other cycle handling: If the only configured cycle is Other, the HOS card is hidden entirely. If a regulated cycle is configured and Other is inactive, only the regulated card shows. If Other is the active cycle and a regulated cycle is also configured, the Other card shows an inline message that HOS clocks aren't available for Other, and the regulated cycle remains visible for planning.
Viewing the driver summary
1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and go to Fleet View.
2. Click Drivers and select the driver profile you want to view the summary for.
3. Click Summary to view the driver summary page.
FAQs
Will both HOS cards always appear?
No. Two cards appear only when a driver has two relevant cycles configured. A driver with only one cycle continues to see a single HOS Cycle widget, and Other follows the special display rules described above.
What does the Active label mean?
It identifies the cycle rule that is currently applied to the driver. The other cycle can still be viewed for planning when it's a regulated US or Canadian cycle.
What happens when the active cycle is Other?
The Dashboard explains that clocks aren't available for Other and shows the configured regulated cycle for planning, if one exists.
