Introduction
Dispatchers can now see both a driver's primary and secondary Hours of Service (HOS) cycles when set up directly on the Motive Dashboard, giving cross-border and dual-jurisdiction fleets full clock visibility without leaving their normal workflow.
What's New?
- Dual-cycle HOS cards on Driver Summary: When a driver has both a primary and secondary cycle configured, the HOS card now displays them as two separate cards titled “HOS: Primary cycle” and “HOS: Secondary cycle.” Cycle rule names are shortened so they stay readable (for example, Canada S 70/7 (Cycle 1) instead of the full rule name).
- Secondary HOS card on Driver Live: A secondary HOS card now appears below the existing HOS card on Driver Live, using the same familiar layout.
- Active cycle labeling: The cycle currently applied to the driver is marked with an "Active" label, and cycle rule names are shortened so they stay readable.
- Consistent clock details: Each cycle card shows current clock information, available hours for today and tomorrow, and the "Show Split SB Provision" control, where that control is already supported for US cycles.
- Single-cycle simplicity: Drivers with only one configured cycle continue to see a single widget labeled "HOS Cycle," with no added primary/secondary terminology.
- Smart handling of "Other" cycles: Since "Other" has no HOS restriction logic, clocks, or violation alerts, the Dashboard adjusts accordingly: the HOS card is hidden if "Other" is the only configured cycle; only the regulated card shows if "Other" is inactive; and an explanatory message appears if "Other" is the active cycle while a regulated cycle is also configured.

FAQs
Is this a new HOS calculation?
No. This launch adds visibility to the primary and secondary cycles already configured for the driver. It does not introduce a new HOS rule or change the driver's underlying logs.
Does this change the Driver App?
No. The Driver App already supports primary and secondary cycle selection and clocks. This launch adds the same visibility to Driver Summary and Driver Live for fleet users.
Will both cards always appear?
No. Two cards appear only when a driver has two relevant cycles configured. A driver with only one cycle continues to see one HOS widget, and "Other" follows the special display rules described above.
What does the "Active" label mean?
It identifies the cycle rule that is currently applied to the driver. The other cycle can still be viewed for planning when it is a regulated US or Canadian cycle.
What happens when the active cycle is "Other"?
The Dashboard explains that clocks are not available for "Other" and shows the configured regulated cycle for planning when one exists.
