Removal of Legacy Tabs and Reports from the Fleet Dashboard

Introduction

Motive is consolidating device status into the Devices Hub. As part of this effort, the legacy Safety > Cameras tab, the Camera Details report, and the Camera Connection History report are being retired. The Compliance > Disconnects tab is being migrated to Devices Hub, and the Disconnect Details report is being moved to Motive Analytics. Device information now lives in the Devices Hub and in the Device Status and Device Status History reports in Analytics. This update makes Devices Hub the single place to monitor device status.

What’s New?

  • Retired tabs and reports
    • Cameras tab in Safety: The Safety > Cameras tab is being retired. You can use the Cameras tab in Devices Hub for camera details and statuses.
  • Camera Details report: The Camera Details report is being retired, and the Device Status Report is now the source of truth for the current status of your devices.
  • Camera Connection History report: The Camera Connection History report is being retired and replaced by the new Device Status History Report for past statuses.
  • Migrated tabs and reports
    • Disconnects tab in Compliance: The Compliance > Disconnects tab is not being retired. It is being migrated to Devices Hub.
  • Disconnect Details report: The Disconnect Details report is not being retired. It is being moved to Motive Analytics > Reports as Disconnects Detail by Vehicle and Groups.
  • New Device Status History Report: This Analytics report shows every status and sub-status change for a device, not just connects and disconnects. It uses the same status taxonomy as Devices Hub, so historical and real-time views match.
  • Updated Fleet Dashboard navigation: Old links and entry points redirect to the appropriate Devices Hub view or report rather than ending in a dead page.

How does this help our customers?

  • One source of truth: Fleets can rely on Devices Hub and its related reports instead of comparing duplicate legacy views with different status terminology.
  • Consistent statuses: Historical and real-time views use the same Devices Hub statuses, so you will not see different statuses for the same device on different pages.
  • Faster troubleshooting: A single history timeline helps users understand when a device status changed and investigate connectivity or hardware issues more efficiently.
  • Improved device context: Users can review current device status and historical status changes through two reports on Device Status and Device Status History.
  • Simplified workflows: Removing redundant tabs and reports reduces navigation complexity and makes it easier for fleets to find the right device information.
