Introduction to Fleet App

The Motive Fleet App is designed to help fleet admins and managers monitor and manage operations on the go. This article explains the app’s features, requirements, and how to get started.

Overview 

The Motive Fleet App brings key tools from the Motive Dashboard to your mobile device, enabling fleet management from anywhere. With the app, you can track drivers, vehicles, and assets in real-time and manage daily tasks even when away from your desk.

  • Manage on the go: Track vehicles with real-time GPS, check driver hours of service (HOS), and monitor vehicle health.
  • Stay connected: Send messages to drivers and view dashcam footage to review safety events.
  • Improve efficiency: Find vehicles or assets on the map, check trip history, and review reports to make informed decisions.

Features 

With the Fleet App, you can:

  • View the live location of vehicles, drivers, and assets on an interactive map.
  • Access driver status, hours of service (HOS) logs, and safety scores.
  • Monitor vehicle health with telematics data such as fuel levels and engine fault codes.
  • Review dashcam footage for safety events.
  • Communicate directly with drivers. 

System and device requirements

To ensure optimal performance and access to all features, the Motive Fleet App requires the following:

  • Operating system:
    • iOS version 15.0 or later
    • Android version 9.0 or later
  • Device requirements:
    • A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data)
    • Sufficient storage for the app and its data 

Logging in and logging out 

To download and log in:

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your device.
  2. Search for Motive Fleet.

  1. Once installed, open the app and tap Log in.

  1. Log in using the same Email and Password used for the Motive Dashboard.

For the best experience, enable automatic updates in your device settings to get the latest features and security improvements.

To log out of the Fleet App: 

1. Click on the Settings icon at the bottom.

What is the difference between the Motive Fleet App and the Motive Driver App?

The Motive Fleet App is for fleet admins and fleet managers. It lets you oversee operations, track vehicles, and manage drivers. The Motive Driver App is for drivers to manage HOS logs, complete inspections, and message their managers.

Who can use the Motive Fleet App?

Anyone with an active Motive fleet admin or fleet manager account can use the app.

What should I do if I can’t log in to the Fleet App?

Try the following steps: 

  1. Make sure you’re using the correct email and password for your fleet admin or fleet manager account. 
  2. Check that your device has a stable internet connection. 
  3. If you forgot your password, tap Forgot password? on the login screen to reset it.

Is the Motive Fleet App free?

Yes, the app is free to download. However, you need an active Motive subscription and a valid fleet admin or fleet manager account to use it.
