Manually Link Bank Account for Motive Cards

    Applies To Motive Cards



    Motive cards can only be paid with a Bank Account. No option for Debit or any other cards to pay Motive Card Balance. Fleet Admins can link bank accounts to Motive cards through Fleet Dashboard. 


    Steps: Manually Link bank account

    1. Log into Fleet Dashboard and click on the Admin icon in the left-hand side menu. 


    2. Click on Cards in the left-hand side menu.

    3. Click on Add bank account.


    4. A prompt Motive uses Plaid to link bank accounts appears. Click on Continue.  


    5. Select your bank account that you want to link with Motive Cards. 


    6. At the bottom of this page/list, Select “Link with account numbers”.

    7. You will see a prompt to link your bank with account numbers, click on ‘Enter your account info


    3. Enter your full name associated with the account


    4. Select the account type.


    5. Enter their bank’s routing number:

    6. Click Continue and enter your bank account number.


    Authorize 3-Letter Code Micro-Deposit Process: 

    Note: This tool is used to verify your ownership of the account and once verified, only then you’ll have visibility into deposits and withdrawals.

    It can take up to 24 - 48 hours for the deposit to reflect on your Bank Account. Once you can find the deposit, you can navigate back to your ‘linked bank accounts’ section in the dashboard to ‘verify account’. Click 
    Verify account.


    If you’re prompted to manually verify a code for your micro-deposit within your app or service, here’s what we recommend:
    1. Log into your online banking account via their app or website
    2. Locate the $0.01 deposit that was made into the account that you provided details for previously (step 6 above)
    3. Click into this deposit/transaction to view the details. The deposit should come through with a description that reads: #XXX  <app_name>  ACCTVERIFY
    4. The "XXX" above is where a 3-letter code should be (e.g. #ABC Peanut App ACCTVERIFY).
    5. Once you've located the 3-letter code in the description of the $0.01 deposit, copy the code or write it down for quick access later.
    6. There will be 3 attempts available for Verification. If failed, User will have to follow the whole process again. 
    7. After you click verify account, Your account will be successfully set up & Motive cards can then be used.


    If you are not receiving the $0.01 deposit, please reach out to the app or service you’re attempting to connect with. 

    There is a 7 day time window, If unable to very your account during this time frame, Process will need to be restarted.
