Fleet Admins and Fleet Managers can enhance transparency by sharing real-time vehicle locations with external parties using a mobile browser. The shared link grants access to a real-time location tracking page, displaying the current position of the vehicle.
This guide walks you through the steps to share a vehicle’s live location using your mobile phone browser.
Sharing live location
1. Open the browser on your mobile phone and search for Motive’s website www.gomotive.com.
2. Log into the Motive Fleet Dashboard using your mobile phone browser.
3. Once logged in, the Fleet View opens by default. Tap on Live located at the top center of the screen. This will open a dropdown menu.
4. From the dropdown menu, select Vehicles to view the list of all fleet vehicles.
5. Find and tap on the vehicle you wish to share the location for. This will open a detailed view of that specific vehicle.
6. Tap on the three dots in the top-left corner of the screen and select Sharing is On.
7. The Share Location dialog box shows the selected vehicle, allowing you to set an expiration time and add optional notes to the link.
8. You can now share the link with brokers, customers, or any relevant stakeholders via email, messaging apps, or any communication channel of your choice.
