Answer

The Safety Score measures driving safety on the road. A higher score means safer driving. Follow these tips to improve the score:

  • Avoid distractions such as phone use while driving. Keep attention on the road and hands on the steering wheel.
  • Make full stops at stop signs, obey traffic lights, and follow all road signs.
  • Maintain a safe following distance to ensure enough reaction time and avoid sudden stops.
  • Always wear a seat belt before driving to minimize injury risk in case of an accident.
  • Follow speed limits and adjust speed according to road conditions for safer driving.
  • Drive smoothly, avoiding hard braking, rapid acceleration, or sharp turns to keep the ride safe and comfortable.
  • Regularly review driving events to identify areas for improvement each week and make necessary adjustments.
  • Coach drivers accordingly and make sure to attend those events in a certain cadence. Leaving the safety events unattended can jeopardize the safety score.
Note: The Safety Score is updated weekly. It is based on the last 4 weeks of driving data. Fewer unsafe driving events mean fewer points are deducted, resulting in a higher score.
