Introduction
Fleet Managers can enable or disable the Mobile-based card unlock feature for cards assigned to vehicles from the Fleet Dashboard for added flexibility.
Note: Keeping the unlock feature enabled ensures that Drivers are linked to transactions, reducing the risk of fraud. Moreover, disabling this feature removes Driver assignment, which can increase the risk of fraudulent transactions. Additionally, any transactions made with unlocked cards can't be disputed, even in cases of fraud. |
Steps: Disabling/Enabling Mobile-based Card Unlock feature assigned to vehicles
Disabling the Mobile-based Card Unlock feature
For specific Vehicle Card
1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon on the bottom left side of the screen.
2. Click Cards.
3. Click Card Management.
4. Click three dots for the card you want to disable.
5. From the dropdown, select Edit security settings.
6. Uncheck the box labeled Require mobile-based unlock for this card.
7. A confirmation pop-up message appears. Check the box beside I acknowledge and accept the risks of disabling mobile-based unlock for cards assigned to vehicles.
8. Review the message and click Continue.
9. Click Save.
Note: Once disabled, the vehicle card no longer requires mobile-based unlock before use. This setting can be re-enabled anytime by following the same steps and toggling the option back on. However, card unlocking is required if pre-transaction metadata settings apply. |
For all Vehicle Cards in the fleet
1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon on the bottom left side of the screen.
2. Click Cards.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click Edit.
5. Uncheck the box labeled Apply to cards assigned to vehicles.
6. A confirmation pop-up message appears. Acknowledge the change by checking the box.
7. Review the message and click Continue.
8. Click Save.
9. The Fleet Admins receive the following email under Security & Fraud, Account Management, and Billing pages.
Note: Once disabled, all vehicle cards no longer require mobile-based unlock before use. However, card unlocking is required if pre-transaction metadata settings apply. |
Enabling the Mobile-based Card Unlock feature
Note: The Mobile-based card unlock feature is enabled by default for cards assigned to vehicles. However, if this setting was previously disabled, Fleet Admins can follow the steps below to enable it again. |
1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon on the bottom left side of the screen.
2. Click Cards on the left-hand side menu.
Note: If the Cards settings are not editable, you must adjust the Roles & Permissions section by following the steps here. |
3. Open the Settings tab.
4. Click Edit.
5. Click the checkmark button beside Apply to cards assigned to vehicles.
6. Click Save.
Enable Permissions for Editing Mobile-based Card settings
1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click the Admin icon on the bottom left side of the screen.
2. Click the Fleet Users tab in the left-hand side menu.
3. Click Roles & Permissions.
4. Choose Edit from the Options dropdown menu for the Fleet User.
7. On the Edit Role screen, scroll down to the Cards section under Admin, and check the boxes labeled Card Management as well as Edit Card Status Spend Control, and Fraud Control.
8. Click Save.
