How to enable Auto Decline when fuel level is more than X%

Introduction

The Auto Decline feature helps Fleet Admins prevent unnecessary fuel purchases by automatically declining transactions when a vehicle's fuel level is above a specified percentage.

Note: Once auto decline for fuel level above X% of is enabled cardholders will have to verify a transaction and reattempt after 30 minutes when telematics data is unreliable.

Steps: Auto Decline for Fuel Theft Detection

 

Enabling Auto-decline when the fuel level is more than X% for 

1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and click Admin in the left-hand menu.

2. Click the Products dropdown from the left-hand side menu.

3. Click Cards.

4. Click the Settings tab.

5. Click Edit in Fuel theft detection and prevention.

5. Locate Auto-decline fuel transactions.

6. Enter the desired fuel percentage threshold, for example 70%.

7. Click Save.

 

Viewing Auto-declined Transactions when the fuel level is above X%

1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard.

2. Click Cards.

3. Click the Overview tab.

4. Click Suspicious transactions.

5. Click the Transactions tab.

6. Select Declined from the Status filter.

7. Select Needs review from Flag reason to view all the Auto-declined Transactions that need review. The list of Auto-declined Transactions appears.

8. Hover over the red icon to see if it’s the transaction for an Auto-declined Vehicle.

9. The Transaction Details appear on the right side of the screen. Here you can review the reason for the Auto-decline and other related information.

Note: Vehicle telematics data determines the fuel level percentage. Ensure that vehicles have active Motive tracking to use this feature effectively.
