Device Hub Tabs

The Device Hub is organized into multiple tabs, each designed to help fleet managers and admins monitor, manage, and troubleshoot devices efficiently. Each tab provides a different level of visibility, from high-level fleet insights to detailed device information, ensuring proactive management across all connected Vehicle Gateways and AI Dashcams.

Overview

The Device Hub provides a single, streamlined place to view and manage Motive devices across the fleet. Key features include:

  • Centralized device management that brings gateways and dashcams into a single place for real-time visibility, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Key actions such as remote reboot, status checks, and issue resolution are available directly from the dashboard.

  • Flexible access controls allow fleets to manage who can view device information and perform device-related actions.

Overview tab

Purpose:
Provides a high-level snapshot of device status across the fleet, covering vehicles, gateways, and cameras.
This enables fleet managers to quickly gauge overall device readiness and identify critical issues requiring immediate attention.

Key features:

  • View the total count of all Devices, Gateways, and Cameras
  • Analyze pie charts showing the percentage of devices in Normal vs. other statuses, segmented by Vehicles and Devices
  • Review top device issues categorized by type
  • Access direct links to resolve urgent items such as camera obstructions
  • Navigate quickly to installation guides and detailed device reports

On the Overview tab, the vehicle-level status represents a combined view of the Vehicle Gateway and Dashcam statuses, determined by a defined priority order. This means a single vehicle’s status depends on the combined health of its connected devices.

Devices status by vehicle

Main StatusDescription
NormalDisplayed when both the Vehicle Gateway and Dashcam are connected to the vehicle and are in the Normal state.
Powered OffShown when either the Vehicle Gateway or Dashcam connected to the vehicle is powered off.
Install IssueShown when either the Vehicle Gateway or Dashcam connected to the vehicle has an installation issue.
Other IssuesThe camera connected to the vehicle is not recording.
Return DeviceShown when either the Vehicle Gateway or Dashcam has a return authorization issued. These devices should no longer be used and must be returned to Motive.

Why counts differ across charts

The Overview page shows three different pie charts: one each for Vehicles, Vehicle Gateways, and Cameras. Because these charts are calculated differently, the status counts may not always match exactly.

  • Vehicle chart: Combines the statuses of the Vehicle Gateway and Dashcam based on a predefined priority order to show an overall vehicle status.
  • Vehicle Gateways chart: Shows the status of each gateway device individually.
  • Cameras chart: Shows the status of each dashcam individually.

As a result, if one vehicle’s Vehicle Gateway is Normal but its dashcam is Powered Off, the Vehicle Chart will show that vehicle as Powered Off, while the Vehicle Gateway and Camera charts will count each device separately under their respective statuses.

Vehicles tab

Key features:

  • Displays status for all vehicle gateways in the fleet.
  • Includes last activity timestamp, installed cable type, and low vehicle battery indicator.
  • Supports remote reboot functionality for gateways.

Cameras tab
