Reboot Vehicle Gateway from Device Hub

The Remote Reboot feature in the Device Hub allows fleet managers and admins to reboot a Vehicle Gateway directly from the Fleet Dashboard without needing to physically access the vehicle. This helps resolve temporary device issues like connectivity loss or unresponsive status, saving time and reducing downtime.

Note: To use this feature, you must have the necessary permissions enabled in your role settings. The vehicle’s engine must be off, and the gateway must have an active LTE connection for the reboot to complete successfully.

Rebooting the vehicle gateway from the Device Hub

  1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard and go to Devices > Vehicles.

2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) for the vehicle gateway you want to reboot.

3. Select View device details from the dropdown.

4. In the bottom-right corner of the screen, click Reboot.

5. A confirmation prompt appears. Click Yes to start the reboot.

6. The reboot process will begin, and the device status will temporarily display Reboot Pending until the reboot completes.

7. Once the reboot is successful, fleet users will receive a notification on the Fleet Dashboard.
