Device Hub Statuses on Fleet Dashboard and Fleet App

Introduction

This update makes device statuses visible within multiple Fleet Dashboard surfaces and on the Fleet App, so fleet admins and managers can keep track of their device state from more than one place, eliminating the need to constantly switch tabs for device health updates.

What’s New?

Device Hub statuses for Vehicle Gateways and Dashcams now appear consistently across the Fleet Dashboard and Fleet App surfaces.

Updated surfaces on the Fleet Dashboard

  1. Fleet View > Vehicles and Assets lists: By hovering over the camera icon, fleet users can see device status, making it easier to scan fleet health at a glance.
  1. Fleet View > Vehicle and Asset Live pages: Displays the current Device Hub status for the Vehicle Gateway and Dashcams alongside live telematics, so fleet users can see if issues are device-related.
  1. Admin > Vehicle and Asset list pages: Shows device statuses directly in admin lists, helping admins and managers spot problematic vehicles or assets while managing configurations.
  1. Admin > Editing Vehicle and Asset pages: Surfaces Vehicle Gateway and Dashcam statuses on the edit page, so admins understand device health issues before making any changes.
  1. Safety > Cameras tab: Shows camera statuses (for example, Lens obstructed, Camera misaligned, Powered off) in consistency with Device Hub and Device Status Report.

Updated surfaces on the Fleet App

  1. Devices > Vehicle Gateway details page: Shows Vehicle Gateway status in the Fleet App for technicians and installers in the field.
  1. Devices > Vehicle Gateway details - Dashcam section: Displays aligned camera statuses, powered off, install issues, and other issues in the Fleet App.
  1. Fleet View > Vehicle Profile page: Shows the device status in the Fleet App vehicle profile view, so field managers and drivers see the same status as fleet admins.

How does this help our customers?

  • Improved consistency: Fleet users now see identical device statuses and wording in Fleet View, Admin, Safety, Device Hub, and the Device Status Report, reducing confusion and misalignment across teams.
  • Proactive troubleshooting in existing workflows: Device issues are displayed on the most commonly used pages (Fleet View, Safety, and Fleet App). This helps managers spot devices with critical issues without having to switch to Device Hub or run reports, enabling a faster response before problems impact operations.
  • Less training and fewer errors: One mental model for statuses simplifies onboarding and day‑to‑day use, so teams no longer have to reconcile different status definitions between Safety, Compliance, and Reports. This improves accuracy when auditing device health or coaching local teams.
