Embedded Video Recall in Vehicle History Page

Video Recall is embedded directly in the Vehicle History (Fleet View > Vehicles > History) page, so you can request videos without leaving the timeline. You can make requests from both the full-day view and from an individual driving period, with an interactive camera timeline that helps you pinpoint exactly what footage you need. To streamline your investigations even further, a full-day timelapse option is also available, letting you review the entire day's events at a glance instead of requesting and watching multiple individual clips.

Overview

Video Recall enhancements embed the recall workflow directly in Vehicle History, making it easier to review activity, scrub through camera feeds, and request footage from one place. Along with Full day timelapse, the investigation process becomes much easier.

Key capabilities include:

  • Embedded recall in full-day and individual driving period views.
  • Additional support for Full Day timelapse video requests along with the existing Standard Definition, High Definition for AIDC+ & Timelapse requests.
  • Visual camera timelines with availability and request status.
  • A synchronized scrubber that updates time, location, speed, and supported request options.
  • Map and timeline hover sync for better recall context.

This helps fleets investigate incidents faster and request the right footage more efficiently from the Fleet Dashboard.

Note:

  • Your account must have the Video Recall permission enabled.
  • The vehicle must have a supported dashcam with video monitoring active.

Opening the Video Recall section

  1. Go to Fleet Dashboard > Fleet View > Vehicles and select a vehicle. Click the History tab.
  2. On the history timeline, click the Videos icon.
  3. The video recall section expands inline below the timeline. Camera availability is fetched live each time you open this section.
  4. To work with a specific trip, click that driving period to expand it. The section zooms in to that trip's timeframe for greater precision.

Reading the Camera timeline

The timeline shows one row per camera installed on the vehicle. If the vehicle has more than 5–6 cameras (including Omnicam configurations), the section becomes scrollable.

Color / Indicator Meaning
Light blue Video is available and can be recalled
Dark blue A recall request has already been made
Light gray No video available for that period
Lock icon Segment is marked confidential; event severity is hidden

A vertical scrubber spans all camera rows simultaneously. Drag it to navigate through the day. As you move it, the following updates in real time:

  • Timestamp, date, and location address
  • Vehicle speed
  • Available video types and duration options
  • Whether the Request Video button is enabled or disabled

Requesting a video

  1. Drag the scrubber to the timestamp where you want footage to begin.
  2. Choose a video type:
  • Standard:  normal speed playback (1 min, 2 min, 3 min)
  • Timelapse: accelerated playback (5 min, 10 min; longer hyperlapse durations appear when available for that camera)
  • Full-Day Timelapse: a single timelapse covering the entire driving day, available from the full-day timeline view
  1. Select a duration. Options shown are based on what is available at that exact timestamp. They are not static and will change as you move the scrubber.
  2. Click Request Video. A success message appears when the request is submitted.

Note:

  • The Request Video button is only enabled when your entire selected duration falls within an available (light blue) section. If any part of the window overlaps with an unavailable period, the button stays disabled.
  • The request icon on the timeline marks the start time of the requested clip, not the end time.

Important read:

Using the Map and Timeline together

While the video recall section is open, the camera timeline and the map are linked:

  • Hover over a point on the camera timeline: a tooltip appears on the map with the trip image for that location.
  • Hover over a point on the map: a dot appears on the camera timeline at the corresponding timestamp.

This helps you identify exactly which location or event you want to capture before submitting a request.

Viewing requests after submission

The History page does not update in real time. After submitting a request:

  • The new request icon will not appear immediately on the timeline.
  • Refresh the page to see the updated request markers.
  • Camera availability is always fetched fresh when you reopen the section, so availability shown is always current.

Note:

  • Once a video request is processed and ready, it can be accessed directly from the Vehicle History page. These videos play along the timeline just like standard trip images but offer a much denser, smoother visual experience.
  • While regular trip images are captured at a minimum interval of one every ten minutes, recalled videos deliver one frame per second. This significantly higher frequency provides the granular detail necessary for deeper, more precise investigations.

Downloading Recalled Videos

Once a recall is ready, you can download it from the History page.

Video Type Available Download Formats
Standard (normal speed) Raw, Basic, Enhanced (Enhanced includes speed and telematics overlay)
Timelapse / Full Day Timelapse Raw, Basic only (zip file only)

If you need the Enhanced download with a telematics overlay, recall the same segment as a Standard video instead of a time-lapse.

Troubleshooting

Issue What to check
Request Video button is grayed out Scrubber is over a gray (unavailable) section, or selected duration extends into an unavailable period
Full-Day hyperlapse option not visible Switch to the full-day timeline view (not an individual driving period)
No cameras shown on the timeline Vehicle may be offline; camera availability refreshes every ~15 min
New request not visible after submitting Refresh the page; history is not real-time.
Only Raw/Basic download available Except for timelapse/hyperlapse clips, recall in Standard mode for Enhanced download
Confidential segment shows a lock icon Event is marked confidential; contact your admin for access
