Follow these guidelines when positioning the AI Dashcam Plus to make sure all three camera views capture what is needed.
Driver-facing camera
- Adjust the camera angle so that both the driver's and the passenger's faces are visible in the frame.
- Positioning too tightly on the driver alone can cut off the passenger side. Angle the lens slightly wider or more centered in the cab so both seats are captured as shown in the example image below.
Road-facing cameras (Wide and Zoom)
- For both road-facing views, align the device so the real-world horizon matches the horizon line shown in the camera preview.
- The horizon should sit:
- Inside the visible frame and not cut off at the top or bottom.
- Parallel to the horizon line guide and not tilted.
- Use a level when mounting to avoid a skewed horizon, and double-check by previewing the camera view from the Fleet App before finalizing the mount.
Tips
- Clean the mounting surface and let it dry fully before attaching.
- Confirm the lens is unobstructed by trim, mirrors, or interior accessories.
- Recheck all three views after mounting. Small angle shifts during installation can throw off framing.
