Take clear, well-lit photos for each category below. These photos are used to verify correct installation and confirm vehicle identification.
Installation photos
- AI Dashcam Plus installed: Capture the device mounted on the windshield near the rearview mirror. The camera lens, mount, and cable connection should be clearly visible, with the mount showing firm contact against the glass.
- Vehicle Adapter installed: Show the adapter secured in its final location (e.g., under the dash or seat), with all cable connections visible and no exposed or frayed wiring.
- Cable management: Show the cable routing along the vehicle's interior trim or pillar, showing it tucked and secured with clips or the factory trim, not hanging loose or crossing driver’s view.
- Connection to vehicle: Capture the adapter's connection point to the vehicle's diagnostic or power port, showing the connector fully seated and any locking mechanism engaged.
Vehicle photos
- Full vehicle exterior: Take a photo of the entire vehicle from the front three-quarter angle so the make, model, and body type are identifiable in one frame.
- Vehicle cab: Capture the interior dash and windshield area showing the installed device with the steering wheel and dashboard visible.
- VIN: Capture the manufacturer's VIN plate or sticker (commonly on the door jamb or frame) close enough that all characters are sharp and legible.
Optional photos
- Engine hours: Photograph the odometer/engine hour display on the dashboard, readable and not obstructed by glare.
- License plate: Photograph the plate straight-on, close enough that all characters are legible, with no glare obscuring the text.
- Existing damage: Capture any pre-existing dents, scratches, or wear near the install area before work begins so it is not mistaken for damage caused during installation.
- Other: Use this for anything else worth documenting, such as unusual routing, a workaround, or a condition that does not fit the categories above.
Tips
- Shoot in good lighting. Avoid heavy glare or shadows over key details (VIN, plate, or connections).
- Fill the frame with the subject. Avoid excess background that makes details hard to verify.
- Retake any photo that is blurry, dark, or missing the key detail (e.g., VIN digits, connector, or mount).
