Motive’s speeding feature helps Fleet Mangers monitor Driver speeding performance against posted speed limits. Fleet Admins have the option to configure threshold definitions for generating speeding events to view in the Fleet Dashboard.
To manage speeding performance more efficiently, Fleet Admins can enable Motive’s Severity feature which will assign a severity level for each speeding event.
Additionally, with the automated coaching feature, Motive automatically identifies when a driver is due for coaching on their speeding performance.
Steps: Monitoring Fleet's Speeding behavior
1. Log into Fleet Dashboard and click Safety in the left-hand side menu.
2. Click the Speeding tab to get stats on specific incidents like Duration, Average Exceeded, Average Speed/Speed Limits, and Location.
3. Click on a speeding event to view more details.
Find how the severity values are defined for speeding below.
|< 6 mph over the posted speed limit for at least 1 minute
|6 -10 mph over the posted speed limit for at least 1 minute
|11-14 mph over the posted speed limit for at least 1 minute
|>= 15 mph over the posted speed limit for at least 1 minute
Fleet Managers can coach a Driver on their speeding performance through the coaching workflow. When a Fleet Manager clicks ‘Mark as Coached’ for the speeding behavior, all speeding events in the ‘Coachable’ status move to the ‘Coached’ status for the Driver.
