Scheduled Services

Introduction

Scheduled Services enhance Motive’s maintenance management by allowing fleets to trigger service reminders based on multiple conditions, such as mileage, time, and engine hours, ensuring maintenance aligns with actual vehicle usage.

What’s New?

Scheduled Services removes the limitation of single-condition triggers and introduces a more adaptable scheduling model, along with updates to the Maintenance hub experience.

  • Multi-condition maintenance triggers: Maintenance schedules can now be configured using a combination of miles, days, and engine hours. The schedule triggers when the first condition is met.
  • Improved scheduling accuracy: Fleets can account for different vehicle usage patterns, preventing early or delayed maintenance.
  • Combined services view: The Services tab now consolidates scheduling and upcoming service information into a single view.
  • Maintenance dashboard updates: Maintenance tabs have been renamed to reflect their purpose better and align with standard terminology:
  • Service Schedules replaces Schedules
  • Services replaces Upcoming
  • Service History replaces History
  • Next service recalculations: When a schedule frequency is edited, Motive automatically recalculates the Next Service date/value for all assigned entities, eliminating manual data entry.
  • Granular cost capture: New dedicated fields for Labour, Parts, Tax, and Misc allow for precise total cost calculations and more accurate reporting.
  • Comprehensive audit trails: All edits to maintenance history entries are now tracked with a full audit trail, providing transparency and compliance for enterprise fleets.

How does this help our customers?

Scheduled Services helps fleets manage maintenance more efficiently and reduce operational risk.

  • Optimised maintenance planning: Vehicles are serviced based on real-world usage rather than a single static threshold.
  • Lower operational costs: Prevents unnecessary servicing and reduces wasted labour and parts.
  • Reduced manual tracking: Eliminates the need for fleets to monitor multiple maintenance parameters manually.
  • Improved vehicle reliability: Timely maintenance helps reduce breakdowns and safety-related issues.
