Virtual Engine Hours for Stellantis OEM Vehicles

Introduction

Virtual Engine Hours helps fleets view engine-hours data for Stellantis vehicles, even though Stellantis does not provide engine hours through its API. Motive calculates the value using ignition data and also allows for setting a manual baseline.

What’s New?

• Virtual engine-hours readings: Motive calculates engine hours by adding engine-on periods from OEM data to a Fleet Admin-provided baseline.

• Baseline editing: Fleet Admins can set or update the baseline value and timestamp from the vehicle profile. Future engine-on periods are added from the time of the update.

• Clear source labels: Vehicle profiles identify readings as direct or calculated, so users can understand where the value came from.

• Fleet Dashboard visibility: Engine-hours values appear on the Vehicle Profile page, Fleet View, and the Vehicles Detail Report

How does this help our customers?

• More complete vehicle data: Fleets can access engine-hours information even when the Stellantis OEM integration does not provide a direct engine-hours signal.

• Improved maintenance planning: More consistent engine-hours data supports maintenance scheduling, compliance, operational monitoring, lifecycle management, and regulatory reporting.

• Simpler OEM-only operations: The feature helps fleets use engine-hours data without Motive hardware or an additional subscription.

• Consistent mixed-fleet data: Helps fleets maintain a more consistent engine-hours experience across vehicles connected through OEM integrations.

Rollout Plan or Feature Go-Live date?

This feature is automatically enabled for organisations with the Stellantis OEM integration installed. No Motive hardware, app update, firmware version, or additional subscription is required.

Feature Launch Date: 20/10/2026

Market availability: US, Canada, and Mexico

FAQs

Does Stellantis provide engine hours directly?

No. Stellantis does not send engine hours through its API. Motive uses Virtual Engine Hours to calculate and display engine-hour values for Stellantis vehicles.

What does a Fleet Admin need to do?

Set a baseline engine-hours value with a timestamp on the vehicle profile. The value then increases automatically based on engine-on periods.

What happens if the baseline is edited later?

The newly entered value applies from the time of entry and increases based on subsequent ignition events.

Is Motive hardware or an extra subscription required?

No. The Stellantis OEM integration must be purchased and installed, but no Motive hardware or additional subscription is required.

Where do the values appear?

Values appear on the Vehicle Profile page, Fleet View, and the Vehicles Detail Report.
