Introduction
Driver Qualification Template sets allow fleets to define which qualification documents are required for different drivers so Motive can automatically highlight missing documents and keep driver eligibility status accurate across Workforce Management.
What’s New?
- Template sets for driver cohorts: Admins can group qualification templates into sets, mark each document as required or optional, and assign those sets to specific drivers or driver groups so Motive can identify what is missing for each driver automatically.
- Default template set: Motive Fleet Dashboard provides a default Standard Qualification Set to help fleets get started quickly and then customise as needed.
- Updated templates view: Users can now switch between the Templates and Template sets tabs. They can create new sets, as well as view, edit, duplicate, assign, or delete existing sets from the Templates tab.
- Missing qualifications visibility: The Qualifications tab now surfaces a new status for missing qualification documents. Required missing documents are highlighted in red with an asterisk. Optional missing documents are highlighted in yellow. Inline upload actions are available for easy document submission. Hover details indicate how long a document has been missing and which template set requires it.
- Updated driver experience: In the Driver App, all qualification items that need attention are consolidated into a clear list, with required missing docs highlighted in red and optional missing docs in yellow.
- Missing qualification alerts: The existing Driver qualification expiration alert has been expanded so fleets can configure alerts for missing, expired, or expiring qualification documents through Driver qualification document status alert.

- Stronger compliance visibility: Organisations can explicitly define which documents are required for different driver cohorts, reducing the risk of a driver appearing eligible while key documents are actually missing.
- Reliable qualification status: Missing required documents now impact driver qualification status alongside expired and expiring documents, so fleets get a clearer, audit-ready view of who is Eligible, At Risk, or Ineligible.
- Faster missing qualifications follow-up: Fleet users can quickly see which documents are missing, whether they are required or optional, and upload directly from the Qualifications tab or act on alerts, shortening the time between identifying a missing document and uploading it.
- Aligned with existing workflows: Template sets build on the current Qualification Documents, Roles and Permissions, and alerts workflows, so fleets can adopt this enhancement with minimal retraining.
