Introduction
To improve terminology consistency across supported English-language experiences, Motive has updated the safety event previously labelled Cell Phone Usage to Mobile Device Usage across the platform.
This terminology update aligns safety event naming with more widely recognised language while maintaining the same Safety and Coaching workflows customers use today.
What’s new?
The Cell Phone Usage safety event is now labelled Mobile Device Usage across supported platform surfaces, including:
- Safety experiences in the Fleet Dashboard
- Coaching workflows
- Reports and analytics
- Driver App performance experiences
- Fleet App safety experiences
- Safety notifications, including email, SMS, WhatsApp, and in-app notifications
What remains the same?
This is a terminology update only. There are no changes to:
- Safety event detection behaviour
- Safety scoring logic
- Reporting functionality
- Alert triggering behaviour
- In-cab alert script
Customers will continue to see the same event data and workflows, with only the event terminology updated.
