Motive MCP is a native connector that makes your Motive fleet data available in AI tools that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Ask questions about your fleet, compliance, safety, and dispatch data in natural language, and take actions your Motive account is permitted to perform, without switching to the Motive dashboard.
Supported AI tools
Connect Motive MCP to:
- Claude
- ChatGPT
- Replit
- Cursor
- Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Gemini CLI
For step-by-step setup instructions, see Connecting Motive MCP to Claude or Connecting Motive MCP to ChatGPT.
Gemini CLI uses a programmatic configuration rather than a standard connector setup. See the publication notes below for the developer documentation link and configuration schema needed before publication.
Other MCP clients
The Motive MCP works with any MCP-compatible client that supports a remote MCP server. Add the server URL to the client's MCP or connector settings:
Regional server URLs
Use the server URL for your region when setting up Motive MCP.
| Region | Server URL |
| United States/Mexico/Most of Canada | https://mcp.us.gomotive.com/mcp |
| European Union and United Kingdom | https://mcp.eu.gomotive.com/mcp |
Mexico and most of Canada use the US server URL. A separate Canada server is planned for late October 2026.

How Motive MCP helps
- Get answers across fleet, compliance, safety, and dispatch data without switching between Motive screens.
- Use natural-language questions to find information across your fleet.
- Take supported actions from your AI tool, including assigning unidentified driving periods, sending driver messages, and creating dispatches.
- Keep your connection active with silent session renewal. You do not need to sign in again unless you revoke access.
Availability and permissions
Motive MCP is available to fleet admin accounts in supported regions. Fleet managers and operators cannot authenticate at this time. They may receive an error if they try to connect.
Connected users currently see fleet-wide data, regardless of their role-based permissions inside Motive. Role- and region-based data scoping is planned for a future update.
FAQs
Who can connect to Motive MCP?
Only fleet admin accounts can authenticate at this time. Fleet managers and operators are not yet supported.
What can I do with Motive MCP?
You can ask natural-language questions about your fleet, drivers, vehicles, HOS compliance, safety events, dispatch, and other supported data. You can also take actions, such as assigning unidentified driving periods, sending driver messages, and creating dispatches, where your Motive account has permission.
Which AI tools are supported?
Claude, ChatGPT, Replit, Cursor, and Microsoft Copilot Studio are supported. Gemini CLI uses a programmatic setup. Refer to the Gemini CLI developer documentation and configuration schema when they are available.
Do I need to keep signing in?
No. Your session renews silently in the background. You will not be prompted to sign in again unless you revoke access.
Is my company's data isolated from other companies using Motive MCP?
Yes. Each connection is bound to your company account. Your data is not visible to another company's session.
Will everyone at my company see the same data through Motive MCP?
Currently, connected users see fleet-wide data, regardless of their role-based permissions inside Motive. Role- and region-based data scoping is planned for a future update.
How do I revoke access?
Remove or delete the Motive MCP connection in the AI client where you connected it. The exact steps vary by client. Revoking access immediately invalidates active tokens. The next request prompts you to authenticate again.
Which server URL should I use?
Use the regional server URL listed in the Regional server URLs section. Mexico and most of Canada should use the US URL. A separate Canada server is planned for late October 2026.
