Vehicles can only be assigned to exempt drivers by Fleet Administrators. Assigning a vehicle to an exempt driver ensures that any events or trips completed in that vehicle are automatically recorded under their name.
Non-exempt drivers, on the other hand, pair with the Motive Gateway through the Motive Driver App.
If an exempt driver is not assigned a vehicle, any trips they make will appear as Unidentified Driving Events. Exempt drivers do not receive notifications to claim these events. Instead, Owners or Admins can manually assign those trips to the correct driver.
