You cannot delete a driver account from the Fleet Dashboard; you can only deactivate it. This is due to legal requirements that mandate retaining driver logs for up to six months, even after a driver has left.
Deleting driver accounts could impact Motive’s ability to provide a complete and compliant record management platform. However, Fleet Admins/Fleet Managers have the option to deactivate driver accounts through the Fleet Dashboard, ensuring compliance while maintaining an organized system.
What Happens When a Driver is Deactivated?
- The driver will no longer appear in the active drivers list.
- The account will be moved to the Deactivated Drivers list for record-keeping.
- You can reactivate the driver account if needed in the future.
