Dashcam Disconnected - Troubleshooting Steps

Symptoms

  • The LED bar on the camera is not illuminated (solid blue).

Causes

  • Damage to the Dashcam’s cable
  • The Vehicle Gateway's USB port is damaged
  • Dashcam and Vehicle Gateway are not connected properly

Troubleshooting Steps

If your AI Dashcam or Smart Dashcam has disconnected, follow the appropriate steps below to resolve the issue:

AI Dashcam Troubleshooting:

Perform a Pinhole Reset:

  1. Locate the pinhole reset button on the left-hand side of the dashcam.

  1. Using a paperclip or similar tool, press and hold the pinhole for 10-12 seconds.
  2. The white LED will blink once while the button is pressed.
  3. Continue to hold the button and observe the white LED blinking.
  4. Release the pinhole button. The LED should continue blinking; if it stops, repeat the previous step.
  5. The dashcam will reset, and the LED will flash white, indicating firmware is being updated.
  6. Once the update is completed, the dashcam light should turn to a solid blue light.

Note: If the dashcam does not respond after the first attempt, repeat the pinhole reset process once more.

After performing the pinhole reset, proceed with the following steps for further troubleshooting if necessary.

Smart Dashcam & AI Dashcam (Post-Reset) Troubleshooting:

Connectivity Troubleshooting:

  1. Turn off the vehicle's engine and unplug the Dashcam.
  2. Unplug the Vehicle Gateway from the vehicle's diagnostic port and wait for 2 minutes.
  3. Inspect the cable, the vehicle's diagnostic port, and the connector pins for any dirt, debris, or visible damage.
  4. After waiting for 2 minutes, plug the Vehicle Gateway back into the vehicle's diagnostic port, ensuring all connections are firm and secure.
  5. Turn on the vehicle engine and wait for the GPS light (left-hand side) to turn solid green.
  6. Reconnect the Dashcam cable to the Vehicle Gateway and check the LED status on the Dashcam.

Following these steps should resolve any connectivity issues with your dashcam. If the problem persists, please reach out to support for further assistance.
