Question

Is there an in-cab alert for Unsafe Parking?

Answer

No, not at this time. The AI model on the AIDC is not yet accurate enough to trigger in-cab alerts without a high risk of false positives. Once the model improves, in-cab alerts will be available.

Question

Will Unsafe Parking events count toward a Driver’s Safety Score?

Answer

No, Unsafe Parking is not included in the Safety Score at launch. As the model matures, we’re going to integrate it into the score along with other AI behaviors.

Question

Can customers change the minimum duration of Unsafe Parking for event detection?

Answer

Yes, but only through a customer support request. Customizable settings are going to be available at a later date, likely in H2 2025, along with other AI beta behaviors.

Question

How is the posted speed limit of the road determined when a vehicle is parked?

Answer

When an event is detected, the system verifies the posted speed limit using HERE Maps. If the road’s posted speed limit is 45 mph or higher, the event proceeds to review by the Annotations Team before being surfaced to customers. Customers can request to increase the minimum posted speed limit to 55 mph for highways by contacting customer support.

Question

Will a new Unsafe Parking event be created after the minimum duration is met?

Answer

No, the AI model resets once the vehicle starts moving again, preventing multiple Unsafe Parking events for the same instance.

Question

Can customers change the video start and end time for the event?

Answer

No, this is not currently a configurable option.

Question

When is the video captured for Unsafe Parking?

Answer

Its captured at the start of the event to highlight the environment before the vehicle is pulled over.

Question

Does the AI model account for emergency stops or breakdowns?

Answer

No, the model doesn’t differentiate between intentional unsafe parking and emergencies. Fleet Managers can review the event video and context to determine if the stop was justified.

Question

Will the system detect Unsafe Parking in all locations, including private roads or customer yards?

Answer

No, AI detection relies on AI Vision and public road data from HERE Maps. If the system can’t determine a posted speed limit for a private road, the event may not be triggered.

Question

Can customers change the default severity for Unsafe Parking?

Answer

Yes, but not automatically. Customers can adjust the severity in Event Detail when reviewing the event. Customizing severity for unsafe behaviors is not currently supported.
