Stellantis integration with Motive Marketplace

Introduction

Motive has integrated with Stellantis’ Mobilisights platform to provide fleet managers with seamless access to vehicle data. This integration gathers information such as GPS location, vehicle telematics, and fuel or charge levels from Mobilisights and securely transmits it to the Motive dashboard.

This integration allows fleet managers to access this data directly from the Motive Dashboard, combining telematics and location information from Stellantis vehicles with other fleet equipment in a single, unified view. 

Integration Benefits

  • No Additional Hardware: This integration uses the vehicle’s existing telematics devices, so there is no need to purchase, install, or maintain any additional Motive hardware.
  • Single Platform Management: Fleet managers can track all vehicles, including those with Motive hardware and Stellantis hardware, directly from a single Motive Dashboard.
  • Real-time Insights: The integration provides access to vehicle location, telematics, and health data, helping managers make timely and informed decisions.

System Requirements

Stellantis

  • Must have a Mobilisights account activated and Stellantis vehicles with compatible hardware installed in them.

Motive

  • Access to the Motive Fleet Dashboard
  • API credentials from Mobilisights (API Key and Web ID)
     

Steps: Enabling Stellantis Mobilisights integration with Motive Marketplace

Step 1: Installing Stellantis Integration on Motive

  1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard.
  2. Click Marketplace from the left-hand menu.
  3. Go to Browse > OEM or directly click the Stellantis tile if it appears on the screen.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Complete the installation after agreeing to the terms and conditions. 

Step 2: Purchasing Licenses

  1. Click Manage in the Marketplace by going to Marketplace > Manage > Stellantis
  2. Add vehicles to the Motive Dashboard to start viewing location and telematics data.
  3. After installation, your purchased licenses will appear under Licenses available, allowing you to start adding vehicles to your Motive account. 
Note: If additional licenses are required, contact your Motive Account Representative.
  1. Click Enroll vehicle.
  2. Enter the VIN of the Stellantis vehicle you want to connect in the modal that appears.

Step 3: Bulk Adding Stellantis Vehicles

  1. Compile a list of Stellantis VINs to enroll.
  2. Convert the list to .CSV format with a single column containing valid VINs.
  3. Upload the file under Marketplace > Manage > Stellantis > Enroll vehicles.
  4. Review the upload status and correct any errors in the spreadsheet, then re-upload if necessary.

Step 4: Managing Your Vehicles After Enrollment

  • To stop pulling data for a vehicle, go to Marketplace > Manage > Stellantis and click Unenroll.
  • Multiple vehicles can be selected to unenroll at the same time.
     

Viewing Stellantis Vehicles on the Motive Dashboard

After enrolling your Stellantis vehicles, you can easily view and manage them on the Motive Dashboard.

Accessing Stellantis Vehicles and Managing Vehicle Details

  • Go to Admin > Vehicles on the Motive Fleet Dashboard. Select Stellantis from the Source filter dropdown to see only your Stellantis vehicles.
  • Open any vehicle to view and manage general information such as vehicle name, license plate, tank capacity, and more.
  • You can mark vehicles as In Service or Out of Service and assign them to groups for easier organization.

Viewing Vehicle Telematics

  • To view live telematics, navigate to Fleet View > Live to see real-time telematics for Stellantis vehicles, including speed, remaining fuel or battery, odometer readings, make, model, and year, and other key data.

  • To view historical data, use Fleet View > History to track a complete history of movements on any specified date for your Stellantis vehicles.
     

Motive Reports for Stellantis Vehicles

Motive provides pre-built reports that allow you to analyze and monitor your Stellantis vehicles efficiently. You can access these reports from the Reports section on the Motive Dashboard.

Available Reports

  • Vehicle Details Report: Provides a complete overview of each vehicle in your fleet, including make, model, VIN, and vehicle ID.
  • Vehicle Location History Report: Shows the historical movement of a vehicle, detailing its location over a specified period.
  • Trips Detail Report: Breaks down individual trips, including start and end times, locations, distance, and duration.
  • Activity Detail Report: Lists down detailed activity for Stellantis vehicles, such as total time on the road, total stops, and distance covered, etc. 

 

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Stellantis vehicles in Motive, the following guidance can help resolve common problems related to data connectivity and vehicle diagnostics.

Data Connectivity Issues 

If vehicle information, such as location or trip data, appears missing or inaccurate, follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

Step Action Why it Helps
Verify Vehicle Eligibility Confirm the vehicle's VIN corresponds to a model year and region supported by the Motive integration. Some vehicles may not have the necessary factory-installed telematics hardware. Check eligibility using the Mobilisights VIN utility.
Confirm Vehicle Activity Ensure the vehicle has been recently driven and is in an area with reliable cellular or internet coverage. The telematics unit must be powered and connected to transmit data, which is typically sent after ignition-off or when connectivity changes.
Check VIN Verify that the VIN entered in Motive exactly matches the vehicle and is correctly mapped to the corresponding asset. A typo or mismatch can prevent the platform from linking to the correct Mobilisights data feed.

Vehicle Status / Diagnostic Issues

If diagnostic data, such as fuel level or odometer readings, are not visible, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Confirm Vehicle Power/Ignition Ensure the vehicle’s ignition is on and the engine is running or has recently been running. Some diagnostic data points (e.g., RPM or engine temperature) are only available when the engine is active.
Check Data Points Supported Verify with your Stellantis/Mobilisights representative if the specific signal is supported for the vehicle’s model and year. Mobilisights may not provide all data points across every vehicle model.
Check for Pending OEM Updates Confirm whether the vehicle’s embedded telematics module requires an over-the-air (OTA) update from Stellantis. Some data streams may require updated firmware from the OEM to become available.
