Introduction
Trip history improvements deliver a unified, more intuitive trip history view for assets using Beacon, Asset Gateway (AG), and OEM data sources, aligning them with the existing Vehicle Gateway trip history view in the Fleet Dashboard.
What’s New?
- Unified trip history view: Asset and vehicle trip history now follow the same logic and visual design, so Beacon, Asset Gateway, OEM assets, and Vehicle Gateway data all look and behave consistently in the trip History tab.
- Cleaner, more accurate asset history list: Individual pings are grouped into meaningful trips, idle sessions, and stationary points, reducing duplicate entries and making the list easier to scan for recent activity.
- Better handling of travel groups: When assets are part of a travel group, asset history shows vehicle and driver identifiers while clearly representing in-motion and stationary segments together so you can see how vehicles and assets traveled as a group.
How does this help our customers?
- Faster investigations and audits: A consistent trip history view across all asset types reduces confusion and helps teams quickly verify where an asset has been, how it moved, and when it stopped, making it easier to validate jobs, resolve customer questions, and support incident reviews.
- Clear view of each asset trip: Grouping pings into trips and idle periods produces an easy-to-read history, so dispatchers and managers can confidently answer when an asset arrived, how long it stayed at one spot, and when it left.
- Simplified multi-device workflows: When assets travel with vehicles, aligned trip views make it easier to reconcile asset and vehicle behavior, reducing manual cross-checking between different parts of the Fleet Dashboard.
