    Symptom (s):

The driver receives a 30-minute break violation after driving for more than 8 hours, violating Hours of Service (HOS) rules.

    Cause

Driving for 8 cumulative hours without taking at least a 30-minute break. This means the total time spent driving without a rest period exceeds the legally allowed limit under HOS regulations.

    Solution

The violation can be avoided by ensuring the driver takes a 30-minute break in a non-driving status (such as on-duty but not driving or off-duty) within the first 8 hours of the driving period.
