How to Enable Vehicle Immobilization Using Mobile Phone Browser

Introduction

The Motive Engine Immobilizer helps Fleet Managers enhance vehicle security and reduce the risk of theft. This feature is accessible via the Motive Fleet Dashboard on a Mobile Web Browser

Note: It is not supported on the Fleet App

 

Steps

Follow the steps below to check installation and activate immobilization.

1. Log in to the Motive Fleet Dashboard using your mobile phone browser, and tap on Live on the top.

2. Select Vehicles from the list of dropdown menu.

3. From the vehicle list, click on the Vehicle you want to 'Immobilize'.

4. On the Vehicle Profile page, tap the three-dot icon at the top right corner and select ‘Immobilize’.

5. Tap ‘Immobilize’ to send the command.

Note: The vehicle will be immobilized when the engine shuts off.

6. If the engine is currently running, you’ll see a “Pending Immobilization” prompt on the Vehicle Profile.AB7C0D86-7B5C-4976-8E39-5267FE28882E.png

7. Once the engine shuts off, the vehicle status will update to "Immobilized."

8. To re-enable the vehicle, simply tap the 'Mobilize' button in the prompt message.

If the immobilization and mobilization commands execute successfully, the Engine Immobilizer is installed correctly and ready for regular use.
