Motive Card for Digital Wallets

Motive Card for Digital Wallets lets eligible United States issued Motive Cards be added to Apple, Google and Samsung wallets so cardholders can pay digitally using devices like phone or watch.

Overview

This feature helps the United States based fleets to enhance their Motive Card usage with the help of Apple, Google and Samsung digital wallets. It enables the cardholders to use their digital devices for payments in case of unavailability of a physical Motive Card.

  • Faster payments: Cardholders can pay with a tap instead of swiping or typing card details, speeding up checkout at pumps and in-store.
  • Enhanced visibility: Wallet payments show up alongside other Motive Card spend in Fleet Dashboard, statements, and analytics, tagged as wallet transactions.
  • Physical card replacement: If physical card is lost or damaged, a wallet-provisioned token lets cardholders keep using Motive Card while the physical card is replaced.

Adding Motive Card to Digital Wallets

  1. Log in to the Apple, Google or Samsung digital wallet > tap Add card.
  2. Scan or manually enter Motive Card number, expiry, and CVV.
  3. After verification the selected digital wallet sends an OTP and creates a network token bound to the device or wallet on success.
  4. The tokenized Motive Card is now eligible to be used for tap-to-pay and in-app or online purchases wherever Apple, Google and Samsung wallet is accepted.

FAQs

Can I add my Motive Card to Apple, Samsung or Google wallet?

Selective Motive Cards in the United States region that are assigned to drivers or fleet users can be added to Samsung, Google and Apple Wallet. These Motive Cards can be used wherever those wallets are accepted for eligible transactions.

Can I add a vehicle card to a digital wallet?

No, vehicle-assigned cards are not supported for digital wallets.

Will my spend controls still work if I use my phone instead of the plastic card?

Yes, all the existing Motive Card controls (for example; MCC blocks, limits, group rules, fraud rules) still apply when you pay via Apple, Samsung or Google Pay.

What should I do if I see a pending or duplicate ‘wallet’ charge?

Many online and in-app transactions create temporary ‘holds’ that later reverse or settle for the final amount. Only posted transactions are billable; any temporary or reversed authorizations will not be billed on your final statement.
