The Health page displays fleets a prioritized view of every vehicle and asset that may need attention. It brings key maintenance signals into one place, including availability, open defects, active fault codes, next scheduled service, and open work orders.
Overview
The Health list is sorted by urgency, so the vehicles and assets that need the most attention appear first. Each row shows the unit's availability, open defect, fault code counts, and next scheduled service, with color cues that help teams quickly identify urgent issues versus lower-priority or upcoming ones. Fleets can search, filter, and sort the list, use quick actions from any row, and open a detail drawer to get more context on a specific unit.
| Note: The defect counts are based on the last 90 days. |
- Availability: Visibility into whether a vehicle or asset is in service or out of service, helping teams quickly understand unit status.
- Open issues: A combined view of driver-reported defects and active fault codes, helping surface the units that need attention first.
- Scheduled service: Insight into upcoming service needs, making it easier to balance urgent issues with planned maintenance.
- Unit-level context: A detailed view of each unit's maintenance status, including availability, open issues, scheduled service, and open work orders.
Using Health in Motive Maintenance
Health replaces the manual effort of cross-referencing inspections, fault-code tools, maintenance schedules, and availability settings with one prioritized screen.
- In the Maintenance hub, click Health.
- The Health tab displays a list of all vehicles and assets sorted by urgency, displaying critical vehicles and assets appearing first.
- Use the search bar to shortlist the required vehicle or asset.
- Use the Availability, Defects, Fault codes, and Service Status dropdowns to select the required categories.
- In the Defects column, hover over a defect or fault-code count to see the specific issues and their severity (major or minor defects, critical or high fault codes) to analyze urgency before opening the vehicle profile.
- For the selected vehicle or asset, click the three dots to view Vehicle or Asset details > the side screen displays all the details, including the vehicle's or asset’s location and open defects.
- For availability status, click the three dots > click Update Availability Status.
- In the Change Availability pop up, select Availability > add Reason > message to driver > click Confirm.
- To view the vehicle summary, click the three dots > View Vehicle Summary > the Summary tab displays vehicle details.
For fleets with paid motive maintenance subscription work orders can be created in the Health page.

- To view the work order history from the Health tab, click the Create work order dropdown > View upload history.
FAQs
Why do I see both vehicles and assets in one list?
Health deliberately interleaves vehicles and assets in a single prioritized list, so a maintenance manager triages the entire fleet from one screen rather than switching between separate views.
Does Health have its own permission setting?
No, Health is a composite view that displays only the signals a user is already permitted to see; it has no permission of its own.
