Whenever a Fleet Admin uploads fuel purchase records for IFTA using an incorrectly formatted CSV file, the import will fail.
Below is a list of common formatting errors in CSV files. Review this list to ensure your CSV file does not contain any of these mistakes. Once all errors are resolved, the file should upload successfully.

Common CSV Formatting Errors
- CSV Headers Mismatch: Headers do not match the Motive Fuel CSV Template.
- Incorrect Date/Time Format: The "Purchased at" field is not in ISO 8601 date format.
- Missing or Incorrect Vehicle ID: Vehicle ID is missing or does not correspond to any vehicle in the company.
- Missing or Incorrect Driver Information: Driver email/username is missing or does not match any driver in the company.
- Invalid Jurisdiction: The jurisdiction entry is incorrect.
- Fuel Volume Entry Errors:
- Both or neither Volume (ltr) and Volume (gal) columns are filled. Only one should be filled per entry.
- Cost Entry Errors:
- Both the Cost (USD) and Cost (CAD) columns are filled. Only one should be filled per entry.
- Odometer Entry Errors:
- Both the Odometer (mi) and Odometer (km) columns are filled. Either one should be filled, or both should be left empty.
- Invalid Values:
- Entries for Volume, Currency, or Odometer are less than or equal to 0 or contain non-numeric values.
Make the necessary corrections, and your file should upload successfully.
