Coach Logs with HOS Issues

Motive’s Coaching workspace helps fleets coach drivers on compliance issues, spot trends, and improve performance. To start coaching, mark a log with issues as coachable. This allows you to review the log with the Driver in a coaching session.

Manage coach logs with HOS Issues

  1. Log in to the Fleet Dashboard and click Performance.

  2. Click Coach to initiate a coaching session for a driver.

  3. In the Coaching section, you can see:
    • Driver's name, email/phone number, and groups they belong to.
    • Start date with the Fleet.
    • Performance history overview for context on their past Safety/Compliance behaviors.
    • Coaching history on the left, showing previous coaching sessions.
  4. Click Start Coaching.

  5. The screen shows a log to be coached. 
  6. Review the log and click the log date to view other logs if multiple logs have this issue. 
  7. Click View full log to edit the log or see more details.
  8. To mark a behavior as Coached, click Mark As Coached.

  9. To dismiss a log, click Dismiss log. 
  10. Select a reason for dismissing and click Dismiss to save.

    Note: Dismissing a log removes the violation from future coaching sessions. 
  11. Click Skip to revisit this behavior at a later time.

  12. Add Notes. 
  13. Click Enter to save once done.

  14. After coaching, dismissing, or skipping a behavior, review other behaviors in the session. Click any behavior at any time to coach it specifically.

  15. You can enter notes for the coaching session in the notes section below. Notes are automatically saved once you click enter.

  16. Once you have reviewed all the behaviors in the session, click Close to finish or Share with driver to send a summary to their Motive App.
