Send Coachable Messages to Driver

Motive’s Automated Safety Messages help Fleet Managers coach drivers remotely. When a safety event is marked as coachable, drivers will automatically receive a message alerting them of the coachable event.

Sending coachable messages to your driver

2. Click on the Events tab.

3. Use the filters on the top to have better access to the desired events.

FAQs

What are some sample messages I can send to drivers to help them understand what to do after a safety event is detected?

Motive’s Safety Hub and coachable messaging already guide drivers to review safety events in the Motive Driver App, but you can also send your own reminders. Here are some sample messages you can reuse or adapt:

  1. General safety event review message: Hi [Driver Name], a safety event was recorded on your last trip (for example, harsh braking or speeding). Please open your Motive Driver App, go to Safety, review the event details and any videos/notes, and then mark the task as reviewed. If you have questions or disagree with the event, contact your manager.
  2. Coachable event follow-up: Hi [Driver Name], we’ve marked a recent safety event as Coachable.
Open the Safety section in your Motive Driver App, review all coachable events for this behavior, and follow the coaching tips shown. Once you’re done, tap Mark as reviewed so we know you’ve completed the review.
  3. First-time explanation of the Safety Hub: Hi team, going forward all unsafe driving events (like hard braking, speeding, or following too closely) will appear in the Safety section of your Motive Driver App.
After you receive a notification, open Safety, review the event details/video, read any notes from your manager, and tap Mark as reviewed. This helps you track your Safety Score and shows us you’ve completed your coaching tasks.

You can use these messages:

  • In Safety event notes and coachable messages (visible in the Driver App).
  • In broadcast messages or internal communication to set expectations about safety reviews.
