    Introduction

    The Card Assignment to Fleet Users feature allows Fleet Admins to assign Motive Cards to roles, such as dispatchers or office personnel, expanding usage beyond drivers while maintaining security and control.

    What’s New?

    Previously, Cards could only be assigned to drivers. This update enables fleet admins to assign cards to fleet user roles, allowing broader access for authorized personnel while maintaining transaction tracking and security.

    Key changes include:

    • Updates to user metadata to differentiate drivers and Fleet Users.
    • Modifications to transaction endpoints to support Fleet Users' purchases.
    • Enhancements in spend summary reports for better tracking.
    • UI updates for assigning and managing cards for Fleet Users' roles.

    How does this help our customers?

    • Enables Fleet Managers to use Motive cards for other expenses such as advertising spends, software subscriptions, insurance, etc. 
    • Provides clear transaction logs, ensuring all expenses are accounted for, regardless of the user role.
    • Updates to metadata and permissions ensure only authorized users can access Fleet Cards.
    • Reduces administrative burden by allowing card assignments within the platform.

    Q. Can fleet users use Fleet Cards for any type of purchase?

    A. Fleet users can only use Fleet Cards for authorized expenses defined by the fleet admin, ensuring compliance with company policies.
