Introduction
Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) enables fleets to identify vehicles involved in Collision/near collision safety events by automatically detecting and reading license plates from dashcam footage. This feature surfaces license plate information directly alongside event videos, helping fleets capture critical evidence for incident review, claims, and exoneration.
What’s new?
Fleet Admins and Managers can now view license plate data for vehicles detected in supported dashcam events using AI Dashcam Plus (AIDC+).
This update includes:
- Automatic license plate detection: Detects vehicles and extracts license plate information from RF-Zoom footage
- License plate data in events: Displays license plate image, plate text, alongside event videos
- Expanded event coverage:
ALPR runs automatically on:- Collision events
- Near collision events
- Integrated event experience: License plate data is available directly within the event detail page in the Fleet Dashboard and Fleet App
- No configuration required: ALPR is automatically enabled for supported devices and does not require setup
