Configurable options in Unsafe Behavior Detection Safety Settings

Motive’s AI Dashcams can trigger safety behaviors and in-cab alerts that help drivers as well as safety managers in analyzing driving performance and ensuring drivers drive safely on the road.

Each safety behavior comes with a default configuration for generating events & in-cab alerts, however, these can be further customized in the Safety > Unsafe Behavior Detection and Event Intelligence section of the Motive dashboards Admin panel.

Below is a summary of the available configuration options for all Motive unsafe behaviors.

Note: Configuration options for behavior preset groups (Lowest-Highest) and advanced controls are identical for both Event capture and In-cab alerts.

FAQs

What does T2H mean in Close Following settings?

T2H stands for Time-to-Hit. It refers to the estimated number of seconds until your vehicle would hit the vehicle in front if that vehicle suddenly stopped and your speed/distance stayed the same. For example, 0.7s T2H at 35 mph for 15 s means the vehicle is traveling at least 35 mph, the estimated time-to-hit is 0.7 seconds, and that condition continues for 15 seconds.

Can Motive Dashcam detect whether passengers are wearing seatbelts?

No. Motive’s current driver-facing AI Dashcam only supports driver seatbelt violation detection. Passenger seatbelt detection is not currently an available feature.

Where can I enable pedestrian warning alerts in the Fleet Dashboard?

Pedestrian warning alerts are not currently available in Motive. The current AI Dashcam safety alerts support behaviors such as mobile device usage, seat belt violation, distraction, stop sign violation, speeding, and harsh driving, but not pedestrian warning detection.
